“Around 40% of our visitors return every year,” says Tricia Fox, the Enchanted Forest press officer. “They come from all over Scotland but this is not only an event of national interest, we expect an international audience of around 7%”.
This event has enormous economic value for the area, “restaurants, hotels, local shops and transport are expected to have a benefit of around £1m in total this year” says Tricia Fox.
Award-winning lighting designer, Simon Wilkinson, who has worked on versions of Peter Pan, A Christmas Carol and The 39 Steps amongst others, is in charge of the light show. Working with him will be musician Ronnie McConnell as this year’s sound effect supervisor, who has under his belt projects such as Hamlet, The Grapes of Wrath and Heartbreak House. These two young talents combined will delight the 2010 audience.
Enchanted Forest is running alongside the Highland Perthshire Autumn Festival the highlights of which include fireworks, ghost tours, a Halloween marquee, storytelling and many other autumn related activities.
