In light of the present and upcoming Christmas and Hogmanay celebrations, Edinburgh has launched it’s new free WiFi service in the city centre.

Throughout central Edinburgh, from Queen Street to the Meadows, Haymarket to Holyrood Park, everyone will now be able to make use of the free WiFi from today, until the end of the festive period.

It is hoped that more people will be able to photograph the city and share their images instantly online. This will potentially benefit the tourism sector by attracting more visitors.

Councillor Frank Ross showed his loyalty to the project, telling the Edinburgh Evening News that he thinks it is important the city is providing this kind of quality service to the millions of residents and visitors who enjoy Edinburgh each year.
