Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale target historic win

Lothian Thistle Hutchinson Vale host Championship leaders St Mirren in hopes of another cup upset.

The Edinburgh based team hope to once again take a scalp as they host a St Mirren team winless in the last three games.

Lothian Thistle overcame Stirling Albion 5-3 in the last round another team two divisions above them and there is an excitement in the camp.
Thistle defender Paul Crawford said “the teams buzzing, we are confident in our team and ability. We are really excited for the game.”

It is the second time in 3 years are in the third round of the Scottish Cup and feels that the experience will help them “There’s a lot of young boys, who weren’t here for the cup run a few years ago but the lads who were, know what to expect and are excited about another shot.”

A team that has scored 42 goals in seven league games, as well as five goals against Stirling Albion, this season has been based around attacking football. Crawford believes that “If we go for it as we usually do and get a goal or two who knows what can happen, as a team we want to score goals.”

The match is being played at Saughton Enclosure, LTHV home ground and Crawford believes the pitch could give Lothian Thistle an advantage “it’s not to the standard that St Mirren are used too. I think if we got a draw and a replay it would be a good result, but who knows maybe we can sneak a 2-1 win.”

With 300 tickets sold to the home fans and St Mirren allocation of 1000 tickets, this will be a great financial boost for the home team either way.
The match takes place on Saturday 18th November with a 1 pm kickoff and tickets are available at Lothian Thistle Hutchinson Vale Club Room, 49 Fords Road EH11 3HS between 10 am and 7 pm.
