Severe disruption hit Scotland’s rail network today as the appearance of a large sinkhole caused the cancellation of all trains between Edinburgh and Dundee.
The sinkhole appeared earlier this morning at Leuchars in Fife.
Network Rail said that ballast stones below the southbound line had caused the cancellation.
The disruption is expected to last for the whole day.
A sinkhole has caused a dip to open up below one of the lines at Leuchars.
It's around a metre deep & will require 3 tonnes of ballast (stones to go below the track) to fill.
