NHS Lothian figures show that over 3000 people’s waiting time has exceeded six-weeks. This figure is inclusive of diagnostic tests to detect cancer.

The Scottish government’s targeted time has dropped from 78.6 per cent to 69.7 per cent in a year, and in September an estimated 3583 patients did not meet the referral target. This makes Lothian figures the worst in Scotland.

Ahead of its march and rally to the Scottish Parliament tomorrow,  the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has called for an end to cuts to the fire service, and for the Scottish Government to use its tax-raising powers to fund public services across Scotland.

University students are not solely teaching classes at an Edinburgh high school, the Council has said today.

This is in response to reports that third-year Maths undergraduates from the University of Edinburgh are teaching the subject at Trinity Academy, after two teaching posts were not filled.

John Lasseter, head of animation at Pixar and Disney, will be taking a sabbatical following a wealth of allegations building around him.

The allegations, inclusive of Mr Lasseter giving out unwanted hugs and invading personal space, have led to his deliverance of a statement apologising for his actions.
