Four days ago, the Edinburgh Capitals snapped a 13 game losing run after a home win over Coventry Blaze. The win came on the back of three games with the Capitals allowing 21 goals and scoring only three.

Team captain, Mike D’Orazio, believes this weekend’s conference games are crucial to the season moving forward. He said: “It’s a do or die situation for us now.”

Sunday’s win was only the second league win of the season and while the team knows that it isn’t good enough. Mike believes now is the right opportunity to change the fortunes. He said:“Injuries have played a factor but I think we are going to get a couple more guys back this weekend. That’s a positive.

“We obviously haven’t been happy with the start but we still got 39 games left in the season and time to turn it around.”

Edinburgh travels to Glasgow to take on Conference leaders Braehead Clan on Saturday. D’Orazio believes they shouldn’t fear them.

He said: “Braehead are a beatable team. I think when we play on our day we can beat a lot of teams in this league. I think we just have to worry about our game and find the game we had last Sunday and try to repeat that.

“It’s a positive, they are also a beatable team. We need to close the gap in the standings, if we don’t our season is not going to be successful. It’s just a matter of how much we want it I guess.”

On Sunday, the Capitals play at home hosting Dundee Stars, a team they have beaten 4 times this season.
