A local coffee spot will be serving its hot drinks all winter at the Edinburgh Christmas markets this year.
Uplands Roast, a small coffee truck based in the Meadows are widely known for their viral hot chocolates and locally roasted coffee. Their fresh drinks can now be found by the Market Street entrance to the markets.
Going viral a few years ago for their signature hot chocolate, topped with cinnamon, chocolate spirals and a blow-torch roasted marshmallow, it is never without a queue.
Scott, who is one of the coffee roasters for the company said: “It’s been going really well. The weekend of the opening [of the markets] was mad”.
For Christmas market goers it will be a slightly different coffee experience under the blare of Christmas jingles.
In the Meadows, the stall has a DJ deck that gives their barista’s a chance to show their music abilities, something that sweetens the long queue waits.
Erica who is working at the Christmas market stall said: “we definitely have less control of the music, we did notice last night when we were closing it was very quiet, even with the Christmas music on”.
Yet, for the 51 million visitors the Christmas Markets are set to draw to Edinburgh this year, there will be a taste of local coffee waiting for them.
